“I have no idea, honestly…” the blond mused, shrugging his shoulders in an attempt to free himself from the rope tightly wrapped around his body. “What do they even want from us? We’re just kids! What can we do?"
What could they do? He couldn’t think of a thing - the squalor they were thrown into upon being snatched up unaware had nothing but broken glass along the floor and hay bales at the sides.
Wait.
"…Quick, can you kick one of those shards of glass towards me? I have an idea…”
Relaxing a little now that they were closer to being out of here, he nodded. “I wonder if maybe something happened that’s got them more on edge than usual, or something…” That would be one possible explanation, right?
But he’d never been straight-out attacked, knocked out, and tied up before in this village. They must have been really nervous and scared to do that. It seemed very likely that something was wrong, but he couldn’t really be sure.
Feeling the rope start to fray, he looked over his shoulder at the other and said, “Once I’m free, we’re gonna have to either sneak out of here, or make a run for it.”
It was then that things started to click. He had heard legends regarding the Legendary Hero and his… exploits in Kakariko. He was framed for Zelda’s capture, and the entire village turned on him. Perhaps someone, or even a group of people framed them for a crime they didn’t commit? If so… why?
“Right.” The rope around the older male dropped to his lap. “You’re good. I’m thinking we should run - I think I have an idea about what’s going on, but I’ll tell you once we’re safe and hiding somewhere."
