”Shoot, yer makin’ me blush. Thanks, though…!” His watchful eye picked up on the other’s body language and the stutter in his speech—everything pointing to nervousness. Now why would this other Link possibly be nervous? The elder wasn’t that intimidating, was he? Maybe an honest compliment in return would balance things out.
”You’re pretty cool yourself, partner.” Nailed it.
Link couldn’t help but absolutely beam with pride. Not only was this Link so… down to earth about everything, so friendly… he also reminded him of his own folks! Course that was just probably him being polite, but the gentle nature was still there. The youth felt at home around the other - he could say whatever, do what ever and not be faced with a judgmental gaze.
Taking in a breath to calm himself, ( why he hadn’t gotten used to strangers yet was beyond him, given his extended time around them during his adventure ), he stared up at the other before speaking once more.
“Ah, thanks! It’s always nice to meet people this kind, y'know? Some of the people I’ve met were a real wake-up call - especially the Zora! So rude!"
